Lilly Gorrie Scholarship
Lilly was born in June of 2013 (she is a Pride baby through and through). She does not have a big “coming out” story because from the moment she could form an opinion, she has known exactly who and what she is. She’s never been afraid to speak her mind, advocate for herself and others, and has one of the biggest hearts imaginable.
Lilly officially started her social transition to the amazing girl she is today during her kindergarten year. She has proudly navigated the school system, educating her teachers and peers along the way about what being transgender means.
Lilly has just finished her 4th grade year in the Enfield Public School system, and continues to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
Lilly is extremely honored to lend her name to the PFLAG scholarship for Enfield High School graduates. As a final remark, Lilly would like to remind every individual here to be proud of who you are and that you are all loved.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

2.0 Overall GPA

Must be a resident (or a parent must be a resident) of Enfield at the time of the application.

Must identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer or straight ally.

LGBTQIA high school senior continuing to higher education OR LGBTQIA full-time undergraduate OR LGBTQIA student attending or planning to attend a vocational/trade school.

Ages 17 to 24.

Involved in LGBTQ support, education, and/or advocacy in their school or community.
Scholarship Amount
The 2024 Scholarship awards 2 people with $1,000.
Terms and Important Dates

Awards will be paid directly to the student.

PFLAG Enfield website will be open to receive applications beginning February 1, 2024

PFLAG Enfield must receive the application and essay via email by May 6, 2024

Letter of recommendation received via US mail must be postmarked by May 6, 2024

Letter of recommendation received via email must be received by May 6, 2024

The decision will be announced by May 26, 2024. Recipients will be notified by email.

Recipients will be asked to attend the Wednesday, June 3, 2024 (via Zoom or in-person if available) PFLAG Enfield meeting to accept their awards personally. Attendance at the award ceremony is not mandatory to receive the award.
